Are Ceramic Rings Hypoallergenic?

Ceramic rings are an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin because our ceramic rings are nickel free and will not aggravate any skin allergies. The most frequent complaint occurring from contact with nickel is an allergic dermatitis known as “nickel itch.” This usually occurs when the skin is moist. Nickel is commonly found in both white and yellow gold, yet approximately 10% of the population suffers from an allergic reaction to nickel. The strength and toughness of ceramic rings, along with these hypoallergenic properties, make black ceramic rings an excellent alternative to expensive precious metals.    

Black Ceramic vs. Black Tungsten  

Black ceramic wedding bands are quickly replacing black tungsten rings for many justifiable reasons. There are a number of benefits to ceramic rings over black tungsten. Black ceramic rings are black all the way through, unlike a black tungsten ring, which is only coated in black. This means that black tungsten rings can be scratched to reveal the actual gun metal tungsten color below the black coating, and over time the black coating will wear away to show the standard tungsten color. Black ceramic rings are black all the way through and practically impossible to scratch. This means that your black ceramic ring will keep the same high quality finish for a lifetime or else it will be covered under your lifetime warranty. Ceramic rings are also relatively lighter than a tungsten band, which some customers desire because they find it to be more comfortable.    

Can Ceramic Rings Be Resized?

Unfortunately black ceramic rings cannot be resized due to the same characteristics that make ceramic such a desirable material for a wedding band. Wedding Bands Galleria offers a free lifetime warranty with every ceramic ring that we sell. If you should ever need to exchange your ring for a new size you can do so free of cost. You will just need to send your ring back to us with a copy of your invoice as well as a small note to let us know what size you will need in exchange. Even if you black ceramic ring has been laser engraved it is still covered under our lifetime warranty, you will simply be responsible for the cost of the new laser engraving. Your ring will also be covered by our lifetime warranty if you should ever scratch or damage your ring at any point in time.
